Pastor message 3-30-20

03.30.20 | Pastor Bruce message by Bruce Davis

    March 30, 2020

    Dear Asbury family and friends,

Yesterday morning I spent time in the sanctuary praying for all of you. I had three foci of prayer. First, that God would grant you peace; second that God would give you His wisdom; and third that God would wrap His loving arms around you. As I knew individual needs I mentioned them to the Father as well.

Scripture focus today is from Paul’s life as he shares it with the church at Corinth.

“But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.” 2 Corinthians 4:7-10 NIV

Physical isolation was God’s good wisdom that He shared with Moses. As one of our members told me that she was taking this time to read through the Bible again.

FYI- Here is some updated information. If you know anyone who is not connected on email and social media share this with them

Church Building: We continue to leave the church building open for personal prayer and small group meetings and committees as determined by the chairpersons of each committee.

Office: Please do as much interaction with the office and the pastor by phone or email as possible. We are still available to talk and help you. Check with us before you come to make sure we are here and available.

Worship: We are learning as we go how to do it better while apart. I know some of you for health reasons may choose to not worship together when we start joining together again. So we will continue to have a social media presence until all restrictions are lifted. Watch for announcements concerning when we are beginning to gather for worship.

Tithes and Offerings: Thanks for those who stopped by or mailed their offerings into the office this week. Please continue or if you haven’t done so yet consider it this week.
